Two Jadavpur University students arrested in connection with the alleged molestation of a woman student were Saturday remanded to judicial custody till Sep 29 by a city court here.
"Nikhil Das, a student of third year, civil engineering, and Sonu Kumar, of second year, mechanical engineering, were presented before a city court which remanded them to judicial custody till Sep 29," said a police officer.
The duo was arrested Friday following interrogation at the city police headquarters here.
The victim - a History (Hons.) student - has alleged that she was dragged into the boys' hostel and molested Aug 28.
While the varsity students have been agitating demanding an independent probe into the alleged molestation, the West Bengal government has set up a probe panel headed by Calcutta University Vice-Chancellor Suranjan Das.
