Refuting allegations levelled by former union minister Jairam Ramesh, Sree M Iyer of Pgurus.com on Monday asserted those charges have only boosted the traffic to his website.
In an open letter to Ramesh, Iyer thanked him "for giving free publicity" to the website Pgurus.com.
Ramesh had accused the website of planting stories against the Congress party and alleged that its proprietor Iyer has close links with the RSS. The Congress leader had also threatened the website with a defamation suit.
In his open letter, shared with IANS, Iyer said Ramesh's "allegations have boosted traffic to the site and the readers will form their opinion on what the content is all about."
Iyer added that he "did attend Modi's (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) meeting at Facebook headquarters and tweeted about it but did not have the pleasure of meeting him".
Iyer also said that he has lot of admiration for the RSS which, according to him, "is the world's biggest non-government organisation (NGO) and are usually the first to arrive at a national disaster site, set up camps, provide basic sanitation, food, shelter and clothing as needed".
About allegations of being a friend of Prime Minister Modi, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, RSS ideologue S. Gurumurthy and IIM professor R. Vaidyanathan, Iyer said he was "thrilled for being placed in the company of some very highly accomplished individuals".
Ramesh had alleged that the website was a joint venture of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh ideologue Gurumurthy, Vaidynathan and Swamy.
