The Delhi High Court on Tuesday recorded the statement of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who appeared before it in a civil defamation suit filed against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders.
The statement of Jaitley was recorded by a joint registrar.
Jaitley in December 2015 filed a civil defamation case against Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party leaders Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpayee that they made "false and defamatory" statements in a case involving the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), thereby harming his reputation.
He has alleged that AAP leaders has defamed him by attacking him over alleged irregularities and financial bungling in the cricket body of which he was the president for about 13 years till 2013.
The Court has fixed March 6, 2017 for further hearing on the matter.
