A total of 53 students from the coaching centre run by Jamia Millia Islamia here have cleared the civil services preliminary examination, said an official statement Sunday.
"The 53 students will now be trained for the main examination scheduled for December," said the statement.
The Centre for Coaching and Career Planning provides free housing and coaching for students from the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes, women and students from the minorities.
"The students selected are taught in a variety of optional and compulsory subjects and it is followed by test series, feedback to them on their individual performance in various tests, and finally, mock interviews," said the statement.
The coaching centre has been running since 2010 and became a residential centre after receiving financial assistance from the University Grants Commission.
