To mark the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) centenary, the Department of Posts will issue a special cover on the university in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the field of education over the decades, the department announced on Wednesday.
The special cover with a picture of the university that was founded in 1920, will be released on Thursday here at the two-day long district level philately exhibition and will be presided over by L.N. Sharma, Chief Postmaster General of Delhi Circle.
The special cover on the Jamia Millia priced at Rs 10 along with other old stamps will be on display and sale during the exhibition.
The objective of the exhibition is to showcase to the general public, in particular the youths, the cultural and educational aspects of the hobby of stamp collection.
