Actress Janani Iyer, who is the latest addition to the cast of upcoming Tamil horror-thriller "Balloon", will be seen in a retro avatar, essaying a character from the 1980s.
"She plays a character called Shenbagavalli, and her portions are set in 1989. Janani will be seen in a full-length retro avatar in this flashback portion. She will join the sets in the next schedule in Kodaikanal," film's director Sinish told IANS.
Asked if Janani plays the ghost, the director said: "It's too early to get into the details of her character. If I talk about her role, I fear I might give away the entire plot."
Also starring Jai and Anjali in the lead, the project marks the reunion of the duo after five years.
They were last seen together in 2011 Tamil romantic-drama "Engeyum Eppothum".
