The Japanese government has planned to submit a draft supplementary budget at the start of the regular parliament session in January 2016 so that officials can implement key policies, the media reported on Tuesday.
The supplementary budget will be for the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2016, public broadcaster NHK reported.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe wants to see his pet projects realised as soon as possible. He plans to have measures for it drawn up by the end of the year.
Officials also want to address the concerns farmers have about losing out in the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade deal.
The government will decide the size of the draft supplementary budget based on the preliminary GDP for the July-September quarter.
The data will be made available on November 16.
