Japan's industrial output rose 1.4 percent in October from the previous month, the Industry Ministry said on Monday.
The index of output at factories and mines stood at 98.8 against the base of 100 in 2010, Xinhua cited the ministry as saying.
The index of industrial shipments rose 2.1 percent to 98.8, while that of inventories was down 1.9 percent at 111.4, according to the report.
