Jayaram, Pawar exit from China Masters

The Indian challenge at the China Masters Super Series came to an end here Thursday as both Ajay Jayaram and Anand Pawar lost their respective matches at the Olympic Sports Centre Xincheng Gymnasium.

World No.23 Jayaram lost his first round men's singles match against local Yuekun Chen in 36 minutes. The Chinese won 21-14, 23-21 in their first even tie.

Japan's Sho Sasaki downed Mumbai's Pawar 12-21, 21-14, 21-16 in 55 minutes to win his third match in as many encounters.
