Brazil midfielder Jean has snubbed Italian Serie A club Roma by committing to Rio de Janeiro giants Fluminense.
The reigning Brazilian Serie A champions paid $1.6 million to buy the remaining 50 percent of Jean's economic rights that still belonged to his former club Sao Paulo. The deal gives Fluminense an 85 percent share in the 27-year-old with the balance held by the player, reports Xinhua.
Jean reportedly attracted the attention of the Giallorossi with his impressive form for both Fluminense and Brazil in 2012. He was a member of Luiz Felipe Scolari's Confederations Cup winning squad but did not play a match.
