Late actress Jiah Khan's mother Rabiya Khan has filed a fresh petition in the Bombay High Court alleging that her daughter could have been murdered. She has sought a CBI inquiry into the case.

"Rabiya feels the investigation was not done properly. If you go by the medical opinion and other evidence, it would indicate something is missing as far as suicide is concerned. Jiah Khan's case is apparently a case of murder," Dinesh Tiwari, who is Rabiya's lawyer, told IANS.

Rabiya filed the plea few days ago.

Jiah, known for her role in "Nishabd", was June 3 found hanging from the ceiling at her Juhu residence. She was 25.

A week later, on June 10, her boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was arrested on charges of abetting her suicide. Sooraj, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, was July 1 granted bail by the high court.
