'India Modern Festive is going to be the theme of the grand finale for the upcoming Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Spring Summer 2017.
The festive rendition of the last season's India Modern theme will be brought alive in a first ever guru-shishya (Master and the Disciple) presentation by designers - JJ Valaya and Alpana-Neeraj, said a statement released by Amazon.in.
The five-day fashion event will start from October 12 at NSIC Grounds, here.
The grand finale, conceptualized and hosted by Amazon Fashion, will present a collaboration between the master and the disciple where the festive is represented by JJ Valaya's grandeur and opulence and the Modern by Alpana-Neeraj's restrained sculpting.
The designers will put together ensembles using thematic design elements like traditional motifs while taking creative inspirations from India's diverse culture and architectural marvels. The collections will culminate in Amazon Fashion's India Modern Festive theme.
"We are excited to celebrate the biggest festive season of the country by bringing India Modern, a theme that received an overwhelming response in the fashion industry, in its festive avatar.
"JJ and Alpana-Neeraj form a perfect combination to bring alive the guru-shishya tradition with their exquisite and inspiring collection. We hope and believe that this finale will set another trend for the festive season," said Arun Sirdeshmukh, Head, Amazon Fashion.
To further delight our customers, Amazon Fashion introduced a special edition 'India Modern Festive' store with a selection curated for festivals".
"The guru shishya tradition has been the mainstay of Indian culture and this seamlessly flows into the world of fashion at the AIFW Grand Finale. Continuing the much-valued ethos many designers in our fraternity have guided and supported young talents.
"This parampara comes alive in the culminating show by veteran designer JJ Valaya and his prodigies Alpana and Neeraj," said Sunil Sethi, President of Fashion Design Council of India, the apex fashion body that organises the fashion week.
