Actor Johnny Depp says he lives "like a fugitive" off screen as he is a shy man.
The 51-year-old, who is always seen in the limelight, insists that he craves a quieter life off screen, reports contactmusic.com.
''I'm f*****g shy man. I'm living, in a sense, like a fugitive. I don't like to be in social situations -- it's fine for me in a weird way, having to run and hide. Less and less, I have the opportunity to observe, because I'm the one being observed," Details magazine quoted Depp as saying.
The "Pirates Of The Caribbean" has admitted that it's tough for him to disassociate himself from the character of Jack Sparrow, which he plays in the franchise.
"It's like being a dog at the track. They expect you to live up to some race you happened to be in and won accidentally. From that first second, you're nothing more than a commodity," he added.
