Atletico Madrid's new midfielder Matias Kranevitter says his arrival at the football club is a great challenge and a "unique opportunity" for him, noting that he already feels the "confidence" to enter in competition with his new team.
"I am very happy to be here in a club like this. It has taken some months for me to be here and I want to thank the affection of the people. I'll give my all for this shirt," Efe quoted Kranevitter as saying on Monday at the presentation.
The 22-year-old Argentina international, who will wear the number '8' shirt is now under the command of his compatriot Diego Simeone. He previously played for Buenos Aires based River Plate.
"Simeone is a winner and has done very well at Atletico. It's a great honour for me that he has signed me," he said according to the club's official website.
"This is a unique opportunity that I have to make the most of."
Kranevitter may make his debut in the first leg of the Copa del Rey next Wednesday against Rayo Vallecano.
"I believe that the trust of my teammates is very important for me," Kranevitter declared. "They have demonstrated it to me from day one. If I get to play, I will be very happy and will give my all because it's a very important match."
