Jordan Saturday slammed Israel for preventing thousands of Palestinian worshippers from entering al-Aqsa Mosque Friday, media reports said.

Jordanian Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani condemned Israel, saying it's "a stark violation and provocation of the feelings of the Muslims, especially during the holy month of Ramadan," Xinhua reported citing a state-run Petra news agency report.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is a holy place for Muslims in east Jerusalem, where Jordan oversees all Christian and Islamic holy sites.

Momani called on the international community to exert its utmost efforts to put an end to Israeli violations in Jerusalem. He also condemned the killing of three Palestinian teens in the West Bank and urged to bring the perpetrators to justice.
