Paksistan's Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) Saturday reserved its judgment and is expected to rule March 15 on Shakil Afridi, the doctor who helped the US track down slain Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
The defence and prosecution have completed their arguments in the case, heard by Commissioner FCR Munir Azam, reported Dawn online.
Afridi's lawyers Samiullah and Qamar Nadeem appealed against his conviction and urged the court to declare this null and void.
Afridi had helped the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to run a fake vaccination campaign in Abbottabad, a month before the US forces raided a compound and killed Osama bin Laden in 2011.
On May 23, 2012, he was sentenced to 33 years in prison and fined Pakistani Rs.320,000 on charges of colluding with the Lashkar-i-Islam and its chief, Mangal Bagh.
However, the court had not entertained evidence relating to Shakil Afridi's involvement with the CIA, citing lack of jurisdiction.
His sentenced was overturned in August 2013 and a retrial was ordered.
