Junior engineer booked in Rs 64 lakh fraud

A junior engineer was booked in connection with a fraud in the Haryana discom department involving over Rs 64 lakh, police said on Friday.

The accused, Rishi Sharma clandestinely sold equipment worth over Rs 64 lakh while he was the store in-charge at Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) office here between June and September.

A case under section 409 of Indian Penal Code (criminal breach of trust by public servant) was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the executive engineer of the office, police said.
