Italian football champions Juventus have announced the signing of defender Alex Sandro from Portuguese club Porto for a fee of 26 million euros ($29.3 million).
Juventus said they would pay Porto the sum over the next three years. The 24-year-old Sandro has signed a five-year contract with the club, a statement said on Thursday.
Sandro has featured in six international matches for his country.
Juventus begin their Serie A campaign at home against Udinese on Sunday. They won the Italian league and the Italian Cup last year but lost to Spanish giants FC Barcelona in the Champions League final.
