The third-edition of global festival K-Pop will be travelling to four cities for Indian auditions, the organisers said Monday.

Organised by the Korean Cultural Centre (KCC), this musical genre comprises of a wide variety of audio-visual elements that also include dance-pop, ballad, electronic, rock and hip-hop, and the Indian finale will be in August in the capital.

"'Korean wave' has helped build craze for K-Pop sensation across the world. It's the ultimate platform to showcase the talent and personality of gifted performers chosen from all corners of India," Kim Kum-pyoung, director, KCC, said in a statement.

This musical movement started in Korea in 1990s and is better known around the world as "Korean Wave". Even Korean singer Psy's "Gangnam Style" that rose to global charts in 2012 is a product of this wave.

Auditions will take place in Mumbai, Chennai, Dimapur in Nagaland and New Delhi.
