JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar was on Monday fined Rs.10,000 and his friend Umar Khalid rusticated for a semester by a panel which probed a controversial event on Kashmir held in the campus, officials said.
Kumar was was arrested in February in connection with a case of sedition and criminal conspiracy over holding of an event on the JNU campus against hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.A group of students had held an event on the JNU campus and allegedly shouted slogans against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru in 2013.
