Actor Yash-starrer Kannada actioner "Masterpiece", which released in cinemas on Thursday, may emerge as the biggest grosser in its opening weekend in the state, going by the impressive numbers on the first day.
"On release day, the film approximately grossed Rs. 6.2 crore, setting a new record. At this rate, it's most likely to end up as the biggest grosser in its opening weekend in the state this year," trade analyst Trinath told IANS.
Directed by Manju Mandavya, the film also stars Shanvi Srivastava, P. Ravi Shankar and Suhasini Mani Ratnam in important roles.
"Despite mixed reviews the film managed to open well, thanks to the popularity of its lead actor Yash, who enjoys a large fan base. The film may rake in over Rs. 15 crore in its first weekend and those are very good numbers," he said.
