The CBI probing the mining scam in north Karnataka has written to the Goa mines department for a list of iron ore traders registered with the state government.
The letter comes following the series of raids across India by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is on the illegal multi-billion rupee mining trail following the Belekeri port expose in Karnataka.
"The request letter from the CBI seeks details of all the 400 iron ore traders who were operating in Goa when the mining scam took place," mines department officials said.
The Rs.60,000 crore Belekeri mining scam relates to the illegal export of over 35 million tonnes of ore.
