Kartik Aaryan, known for his comical monologue in the "Pyaar Ka Punchnama" series, is a part of Tanuja Chandra's next project "Silvat". The actor has essayed the role of a coy Muslim boy who falls for an older woman.

Chandra's movie "Silvat" is a part of Zeal For Unity (ZFU) initiative to connect India and Pakistan through different art expressions. This is the second initiative by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) to use the strength of creative thought leadership from both the countries to bridge the divide between the two.

Kartik will be seen as Anwar, who has problems in expressing his feelings to the love of his life.

Chandra, who has made films like "Dushman" and "Sangharsh", was impressed with his work.

"Kartik is a wonderful actor, perhaps better than he realises himself! Beyond his boisterous persona, I felt there was the possibility of a gentleness in him, a stillness within that could be explored. My mantra to him during shoot was - 'Don't act! Feel'.

"And indeed, he was able to bring a real sweetness as well as heartbreak to this role of a young man in a tragic love story," Chandra said in a statement.

"Silvat" is about a young girl Noor, whose husband works in the Middle East and has not visited her in five years. And in between waiting for her husband, Noor falls for someone else.

"Silvat" will throw light on the dilemma faced by Noor when she has to choose between keeping up with playing the role of a devoted wife or give in to the lover she yearns for.
