Ten bodies have been recovered from Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir where a landslide occurred about a week ago, the defence ministry said Friday.
A search is on for 31 others who got reportedly buried in the Sep 5-6 landslide in Punjar Sadda village that followed heavy rains, an official statement said.
According to the statement, 41 people were reported to have been buried in the tragedy. "Ten bodies have been recovered," it said.
The army and the civil administration were "working round the clock to find the 31 missing people".
The army was also trying to get more men to clear the way for bringing in heavy machinery to facilitate the rescue operations, it said.
