Kashmir Valley shivers, -15 degrees in Leh (Lead, with corrections)

The Kashmir Valley recorded freezing night temperature, with Leh town being the coldest place in Jammu and Kashmir at minus 15 degrees Celsius, officials said Saturday.

The early morning temperature in Leh was minus 14.9 degrees Celsius, the coldest this season, the weather department said here.

The minimum temperature was minus 1.9 degrees Celsius in Srinagar, minus 8.2 in Gulmarg and minus 6.9 in Pahalgam. The minimum temperature was 4.7 degrees Celsius in Jammu city.
