Peaceful protests were held in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda, Kishtwar and Bannihal towns of Jammu region on Monday against the fire bomb attack in Udhampur that left a truck cleaner from the Kashmir Valley dead.
A complete shutdown was observed in Bannihal town of Ramban district against the attack which resulted in the death of Zahid Rasool Bhat and serious injuries to another.
Dozens of people took out a march in Bannihal town, and also blocked traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway which passes through the town.
Similar protests and shutdown were held in Kishtwar and Doda towns where people demanded exemplary punishment to those involved in the attack.
Rail services from Bannihal town of Jammu region to the Kashmir Valley were also suspended because of the tension.
