Actress - Kathak danseuse Nilaanjana, who has acted opposite Bengali superstar Prosenjit in "Sonar Sansar" will display her dancing skill in the "Aamrapali" musical.
"I play a classical dancer Sulekha, a rival-competitor of Amrapali. Known for her beauty and talent, SulekhaAis poised to emerge the 'Nagarvadhu'. There is a fierce dance competition between her and 'Amrapali'," Nilaanjana told IANS.
Apart from "Sonar Sansar", Nilaanjana has also been gradually establishing herself in the Bollywood industry with roles in films such as the Sunny Deol-starrer "Right Yaa Wrong" and Sanjay Dutt starrer-"Zila Ghaziabad".
The actress, who has performed in numerous Indian dance festivals nationwide and international shows winning many accolades, feels that her getting this role was a divine coincidence.
She says: "Producer Baldev Singh Bedi had watched my stage performances and was so impressed that he offered me the finest dancer's role.My over 12 years of intensive Kathak training and riyaaz under my guru Jayantimala and legendary Kathak queen Sitara Devi has helped me in honing my skills."
She adds: "Honestly, I enjoy the ecstasy of performing Kathak on stage so much that my secret dream is to showcase it someday at the aOscars' event."
Nilaanjana is also being finalized by noted film director Madhur Bhandarkar for one of his upcoming ambitious bohemian projects.
