Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will meet commissioners and representatives of employees' unions of the civic bodies of Delhi on June 1 to resolve the issue of non-payment of salaries, a statement said on Monday.
"The chief minister said he will be calling a meeting on Monday (June 1) to look into the issue. All the three commissioners and all unions would be called for the meeting to look into the matter and try to find a solution on the ongoing problem of salaries," the statement said.
The announcement was made following a meeting between Kejriwal and representatives of employees' unions of the North, East and South Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD) -- under the banner of Joint Front of MCD Unions -- here Monday.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was also present in the meeting.
Kejriwal informed the delegation that the Delhi government has paid its part of the amount to the corporations and the central government was yet to pay Rs 600 crore to the civic corporations.
"We have given all the money we were supposed to. In fact, we gave more than we were supposed to," Kejriwal said.
The three corporations are governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which heads the government at the Centre.
