Curtains came down Friday night at the 35th National Games with the home state finishing second behind Services.
While Services led from the front with 93 gold medals, Kerala came second with 54 gold, but in the overall tally of medals won, Kerala got 161 medals (54 gold, 48 silver and 59 bronze) with Services winning 157 medals (93 gold, 31 silver and 33 bronze).
The closing ceremony will be held in the state capital Saturday evening.
Haryana came third with 39 gold, 38 silver and 26 bronze.
At the 34th National Games held in Jharkhand, Kerala finished seventh. Overall in the athletics event, the men and women from the state won a record 35 medals, followed by 21 medals in canoeing and kayaking, 19 in swimming and 18 in cycling.
The 35th National Games (Jan 31-Feb 14) was held at 30 venues across seven districts of the state and had cost Rs.611 crore.
