A resort owned by a company belonging to Kerala Transport Minister Thomas Chandy on Wednesday denied land grab allegations levelled against it, saying the company is being targeted by vested interests.
In a statement issued here, the company said that they have submitted all the relevant documents pertaining to the property substantiating the facts to the Kerala High Court.
"As the matter is sub judice, the Collector's enquiry in this matter is contempt of court and we have filed the affidavit on this before the High Court," it said.
This move by approaching the court by the resort owned by Chandy, comes when the Alappuzha District Collector T.V. Anupama submitted a report, which has found wrongdoings by the resort, to the government.
"We are ready to showcase the proof as we are clear in our conscience and are running this resort in the most proper manner. As the minister is a public figure, we feel the allegations are the work of vested interests with political implication," said the statement.
Meanwhile the Congress-led UDF and the BJP-led NDA have called for removal of Chandy.
It was on Monday night, Anupama handed over her report to state Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekheran, who is one of the four Communist Party of India members in the Pinarayi Vijayan ministry.
