Indian luge star Shiva Keshavan started his campaign at the 18th Asian Championships with the first official training which kicked off here on Friday.
Athletes will be required to qualify over the course of the two-day Official training for the final race that will be held on December 27.
Keshavan, a two-time Asian champion, is a strong contenders for a podium finish along with current Asian champion Hidenari Kanayama of Japan and Dong Hyeon Kim of South Korea.
Keshavan has participated in two World Cups this Season with his best showing coming at Lake Placid (New York) with a 15th place finish at the Nations Cup.
He is scheduled to participate in three of the remaining World Cups in the second half of the current season (January and February).
The next two Winter Olympics are to be held in South Korea (2018) and China (2022).
