Key Indian equity indices rallied during the afternoon session on Monday following global cues.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE, which opened at 25,007.56 points, was trading at 25,098.53 points (at 01.22 p.m.) in the afternoon session -- higher by 145.79 points, or 0.58 percent from the previous day's close at 24,952.74 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 25,143.96 points and a low of 24,988.27 points in the trade so far.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading higher by 36.55 points, or 0.48 percent at 7640.90 points.
Sector-wise, the S&P BSE realty index gained by 1.49 percent, industrials index moved up by 1.27 percent and basic materials index inched up by 1.25 percent, while metal index went down by 0.38 percent.
