Sans any security or officials, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday ventured out in Rohtak town to get feedback from people, especially youth, about the perception of his BJP government in the state.
"Keen on having his fingers on the pulse of the people and getting first-hand feedback, Chief Minister Manohar Lal today (on Wednesday) ventured out early in the morning in Rohtak without his security cover and spent quality time interacting with the youth and taking their opinion and suggestions on good governance," said a spokesman for the Chief Minister here.
Khattar, seated in a Toyota Innova multi-purpose vehicle, arrived at the Sports Complex in Rohtak without any prior information and interacted with the youth practising there.
"He sought first-hand information about how they feel about the various policies and programmes of the state government and how are these benefiting them. He also sought suggestions on rural development and other issues," the spokesman said.
Khattar is the first Chief Minister who came to meet us without any security, said one of the youth.
The youth told the Chief Minister that the state's policy on sports was encouraging them in the field.
Haryana has, in recent years, churned out international-level players in the fields of boxing, wrestling, athletics, cricket, hockey and others.
"I am happy that people are getting the benefit of various welfare schemes and programmes right at their doorstep, and are feeling satisfied," Khattar said later.
Rohtak is around 70 km from Delhi.
