Police in South Goa on Saturday foiled an attempt by three persons to kidnap a businessman, after the kidnappers, who were being chased by the police dumped the victim along the roadside.
"The three persons had kidnapped Harish Solanki from his shop in Vasco town and had demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh," acting Superintendent of Police Dinraj Govekar told reporters.
The victim was thrown out of the moving car, after a police control room van started chasing the Tata Indica vehicle which the kidnappers were driving, the official also said.
"The victim is fine. There are no injuries. With the help of the complainant, we have also identified the kidnappers," Govekar said.
