The Kolkata Literary Festival (KLF) next year will pay tribute to eminent writer and social activist Mahasweta Devi who died on Thursday, KLF Co-director Anjum Katyal said.

Katyal told IANS on Friday she was "overwhelmed" by Mahasweta Devi's power as a writer while translating her works into English.

Katyal in her tenure as chief editor of a publishing house worked closely with the author. She translated Mahasweta Devi's 'Rudaali' and 'After Kurukshetra' into English.

The Ramon Magsaysay Award winner died following cardiac arrest and multi-organ failure at a nursing home here. She was 90.
