Creating a record in terms of passenger earnings, Metro Railway, Kolkata, earned Rs.1,346.83 lakh in June this year, which is 61.95 percent more than the Rs.831.65 lakh earned in the corresponding period last year.
The Metro's total earnings have also increased to Rs.3,995.61 lakh during the April-June quarter of fiscal 2014-15, which shows a growth of 57.9 percent in comparison to Rs.2,530.40 lakh in the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
A Metro Railway statement said it has surpassed its past record in the field of punctuality also.
In June 2014, Metro's punctuality went up to 99.77 percent as against 99.45 percent in June last year.
Its punctuality during the April-June period also increased to 99.81 percent as against 99.47 percent in the corresponding period last year.
