Kolkata woman dies after jumping on Metro track

A woman took her life by jumping before a Metro train along with her child at a south Kolkata station on Saturday.

Police said the woman jumped before a Kabi Subhas-bound Metro train at the Netaji Bhavan station a little after 9.00 p.m.

The child was rescued from the tracks and admitted to the state-run SSKM Hospital in a serious condition.

The mother's body was fished out from the tracks. She was declared brought dead at the SSKM Hospital.
