Senior Indian Police Service officer Krishna Chaudhary was Monday appointed director general of the National Disaster Response Force and Civil Defence, an official release said.
It said his appointment will take effect from the date he assumes charge of the post and until his superannuation June 30, 2017 or till further orders.
The post of the director general had fallen vacant last month.
