Actress Kristen Stewart is in talks to star in "Life of Pi" director Ang Lee's film "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk", an adaptation of Ben Fountain's eponymous novel.
TriStar and Film4 are partnering with Studio 8 on the film, which stars newcomer Joe Alwyn and Garrett Hedlund, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
The story of the film centers around a 19-year-old private (Alwyn), who survives a battle in Iraq, which is captured by news cameras. He and his company of soldiers are brought back to the US for a promotional tour culminating in a halftime show at a Thanksgiving Day football game. Most of the movie takes place during the day of the game, with flashbacks to the wartime events.
Stewart was last seen in "Still Alice" and "Camp X-Ray". She is currently filming for "Equals and American Ultra".
