"Personal Shopper", actress Kristen Stewart's latest collaboration with director Olivier Assayas was booed following a press screening at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival.
The film revolves around a ghost story that takes place in the fashion underworld of Paris. Stewart plays a personal shopper who communicates with spirits.
The film, however, was also met with cheers from a few critics who later came to its defence on Twitter, reports variety.com.
Stewart and Assayas's last film, 2014's "Clouds of Sils Maria", earned her rave reviews and a Cesar Award -- making her the first American actress to win the French prize.
Gus Van Sant's "The Sea of Trees", starring actor Matthew McConaughey, was also infamously booed last year following its Cannes debut.
