Real Madrid's Toni Kroos and Barcelona keeper Marc Andre ter Stegen are part of Germany's list of 22 players announced by coach Joachim Loew for the 2018 World Cup qualifying duels against Czech Republic on October 8 and Northern Ireland three days later.

The list, which was released on Friday, saw no surprises except for the return of Ilkay Gundogan, who missed the 2014 World Cup and Euro 2016 because of injury, reports Efe.

Andre Schurle is absent from the list as he sustained a knee injury in the Borussia Dortmund match against Real Madrid.

Germany's list includes:

Goalkeepers: Manuel Neuer (Bayern), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Barcelona), Bernd Leno (Bayer Leverkusen)

Defenders: Jerome Boateng, Matts Hummels and Joshua Kimmich (Bayern), Jonas Hector (Cologne), Benedikt Howedes (Schalke), Shkodran Mustafi (Arsenal), Sebastian Rudy (Hoffenheim)

Midfielders: Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen), Julian Draxler (Wolfsburg), Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City), Sami Khedira (Juventus), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Max Meyer (Schalke), Thomas Muller (Bayern), Julian Weigl (Borussia Dortmund)

Strikers: Mario Gomez (Wolfsburg), Mario Gotze (Borussia Dortmund), Kevin Volland (Hoffenheim).
