Actress Lakshmy Devy has penned the screenplay of upcoming Tamil comedy "Masala Padam" at the behest of the film's director-cinematographer Lakshman Kumar, and producer Vijay.
"I've always been interested in writing. And when the producer, director and cinematographer who are also my good friends decided to make a film, I thought why not write the screenplay of the film. Since I belong to a family of writers, they felt I should take it up seriously," Lakshmy told IANS.
"My father is a travelogue writer in Malayalam, and maybe I've inherited the talent from him. But I should admit that writing a screenplay is challenging than any other form of writing," she added.
"Masala Padam", which also features Simha and Shiva, is about the people who make movies and those who criticise it.
