Lawmkunga takes over as Manipur chief secretary

P.C. Lawmkunga Thursday took over as the new chief secretary of Manipur, officials said here.

He was earlier serving as the additional chief secretary (forests and environment).

Lawmkunga, 58, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1979 batch from the Manipur-Tripura cadre, hails from Mizoram. He started his administrative career in Manipur in 1981 as sub-divisional officer of Kangpokpi in Chandel Sub-Division in southern Manipur.
