Actor Vikkas Manaktala, who came into the limelight through his role of Amardeep Huda in popular TV show "Left Right Left", says his Haryanvi avatar in that show helped him bag his upcoming show "Ghulaam".

The makers of "Ghulaam" were sure of casting Vikkas as wrestler Veer, which is a character with many shades.

"I got approached for the role of Veer because of my character of Amardeep Huda in 'Left Right Left'. Since my character had a Haryanvi dialect, and so will my character Veer in 'Ghulaam', I was the first choice to play this role," Vikkas said in a statement.

"I was the first one to get locked from the cast even before the pilot was shot as I believed in this project from the time I heard the narration and I am confident that the viewers will love it too," he added.

"Ghulaam" will air on Life OK from March 16 onwards. The show will replace "Nagarjun - Ek Yoddha".

Ashish Kapoor to play con man

Actor Ashish Kapoor, best known for his roles in shows like "Dekha Ek Khwaab", "Ssshhhh...Phir Koi Hai" and "Saraswatichandra", will next be seen in TV show "Waaris" as a con man named Jay.

Ashish's character is inspired by actor Ranveer Singh's role from the 2011 film "Ladies vs Ricky Bahl".

"I am very excited to essay Jay's role in the show and my character will be seen adding to the ongoing drama. I will be wooing Swaroop (Lavina Tandon) for money," Ashish said in a statement.

"However, my character will come across Manu (Sania Touqueer) and the whole plan will get a new twist. I have only recently started shooting with the cast and it has been a great experience so far. I hope the audience appreciates all our efforts," he added.

"Waaris" is aired on &TV.
