Ever experienced a moment when you just want to laze around with some bottles of beer or host an impromptu house party without having to go even to the nearest alcohol shop? Now the experience is just a click away with LetsBuyDrink.com.

The website is the brainchild of three friends, of whom two - Dhruv Khandelwal and Amit Goel - went on to make the idea a reality.

It is, as Khandelwal describes, "an endeavour to bring convenience to party buffs and leisure drinkers".

"The market that we have selected was an untouched market by the internet industry... We really thought that this could work and the demand for such a platform is there in the market," Khandelwal told IANS.

Launched in April this year, the site currently has around 1,500 active members who can avail products from a wide range of imported liqueurs, wines, spirits, beers and non-alcoholic beverages.

Letsbuydrink.com allocates the order to its partnered retailers, and then the retailer delivers the product to the website users. The service is currently available in Delhi and Mumbai, and expansion plans are underway.

"We are currently working on starting our services in Bangalore and Pune, which will be soon followed by Chandigarh, Amritsar, Hyderabad, and Kolkata," said Khandelwal, adding that the product profile will also be enhanced with a range of bar sets and bar accessories.

The services cannot be used unless you're of legal drinking age, and you need to submit an age verification document.

"If we still feel that something is wrong, we block the suspected account from further logging in on the website until we send out our team in the field to manually verify that the person is genuine and check their IDs at the address provided by the customer. If found genuine, the ID is then reactivated," Khandelwal said.

What's the minimum delivery time taken?

"Delivery of the products depends upon the location of the customer from the retail stores. The delivery of a product can take anywhere between 30 minutes to a maximum of two hours for orders received before 9 p.m. for the same day."

"Orders received after 9 p.m. are scheduled for next day delivery. However, for Mumbai, the last orders for the same day delivery are taken up to 10:30 p.m.," said Khandelwal.
