Sport apparel and equipment company Li-Ning was Wednesday named the title sponsor of the World Badminton Championships to be held in Copenhagen from Aug 25-31.
The Chinese firm already has a four-year sponsorship deal for Badminton World Federation (BWF) major events from 2013-16, including the provision of Li-Ning shuttlecocks and court mats. The firm was also the title sponsor of Thomas and Uber Cups held in New Delhi last month.
"BWF is pleased to welcome our corporate partners Li-Ning as title sponsor for another prestigious tournament which will feature the top names in badminton vying for the honour of being World Champions," said BWF secretary general Thomas Lund.
The draw ceremony for the championships will be held here Aug 11. The tournament will be held at the Ballerup Super Arena.
