The Liberian government has reported new Ebola cases as of July 28.

Assistant Minister of Health for Preventive Services Tolbert Nyesuah released the information in the nation's capital Monrovia Thursday, putting the total number of Ebola cases at 352 with 95 confirmed, Xinhua reported.

In addition, Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs Isaac Jackson provided clarifications on the measures announced Thursday by Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in the fight to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

Jackson clarified that the 30-day compulsory leave for non-essential government workers is intended to enable them to work for the Ebola awareness campaign.

He also said the declaration of Friday as holiday is intended to facilitate the spraying of public buildings with chlorine to make them safe for habitation.

Meanwhile, the operator of Liberia's public transport buses, the National Transit Authority (NTA), said all its vehicles would be sprayed with chlorine water while passengers would be required to wash their hands immediately after boarding any bus to any location.

Conductors of NTA will not physically collect money from passengers and passengers themselves deposit their fare in a designated location in the bus.

Conductors will collect the name and destination of passengers entering the bus in case of emergencies.

NTA is accordingly urging all users of public buses to obey these regulations in the fight to prevent the spread of Ebola in Liberia.
