Light rain in Delhi, more expected Friday

Parts of the city received light rain Thursday and the maximum temperature settled at 37.1 degrees Celsius - average for this time of the year. The Met Office has forecast more rain Friday.

The city received 2.2 mm of rainfall from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Thursday.

"More rains are expected tomorrow (Friday) in some parts of the city," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here.

The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 36 and 28 degrees Celsius.

Thursday's minimum temperature was a notch above average at 28.5 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature Wednesday was three notches below average at 34.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled at 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below the average.
