Lightning killed seven people in Odisha since Tuesday, an official said Wednesday.
The toll in the lightning strikes and rain-related mishaps in past three days climbed to 20 in Odisha, with seven people being killed Tuesday.
Of the seven deaths, four people were killed Tuesday in Sukinda area of Jajpur district, about 100 km from state capital Bhubaneswar. Puri, Khordha and Ganjam districts reported one death each, a senior revenue department official told IANS.
Two middle-aged people and two children were killed in Jajpur. They were returning home from farm work when lightning struck them, the official said.
Lightning and rain-related incidents claimed 13 lives till Monday. Six people died in Khordha district while five died in Cuttack district.
