Russias Lokomotiv Moscow defeated Frances Nice 3:2 in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Leagues round of 32 at the Allianz Riviera stadium here.
Mario Balotelli's early double in the fourth and 28th minutes seemingly put Nice in charge on Thursday, but Manuel Fernandes' penalty at the stroke of half-time turned the tide, reports Tass news agency.
Lokomotiv managed to recover with a hat trick scored by Fernandes (in the 45th, 69th and 77th minutes).
The second leg will be held at Moscow's RZD-Arena on February 22.
